The University of Portsmouth grew from the Portsmouth and Gosport School of Science and Arts, founded in 1869. Currently the University employs around 2,200 academic staff and about 18,000 students. The University of Portsmouth is a centre of excellence and innovation in education, student experience and employability, aspiration-raising, research, knowledge transfer and community leadership. Portsmouth Business School employs around 200 academic staff and 3,000 students. The School has an extremely diverse set of research interests covering all the major business disciplines as well as centres concerned with the management of marine resources (CEMARE); a CIPD Centre of Excellence for personnel and human resource management, and an enterprise, innovation and quality (CERI). These centres of excellence are strongly involved with local SMEs in the form of knowledge transfer programmes. The University of Portsmouth is the iLearn2Main project promoter and is involved in the following tasks: Literature review; Training needs analysis in UK; Curriculum and training model conception & design; Training material development; dissemination/valorisation; financial project management; quality evaluation. |
