Measurement and analysis of maintenance performance help management to identify the current performance status with respect to target values and set new realistic goals. At the same time performance measures are a very powerful tool in motivating and driving actions for further improvement. When maintenance measures are properly analyzed they provide valuable information concerning maintenance performance which can be used as a feedback for improvement actions. This way, the effectiveness of maintenance procedures can be further increased and the overall system performance can be remarkably improved.
